2012년 런던올림픽 무선통신분야 공식 후원사인 삼성전자가 5일(현지시각) 영국 런던 첼시 FC 홈구장 스탬포드 브릿지에서 첼시 FC와 함께 런던올림픽 성화주자 후보를 선정했습니다.
삼성전자는 이날 첼시 FC의 유소년 축구 프로그램인 FITC(Football In The Community)에서 4년간 코치로 활동하며 어린이들에게 희망과 용기를 주고 있는 유스프 지마케일(Yusuf Jimacale)을 삼성 성화봉송 주자 후보로 결정했습니다.
런던 올림픽 성화봉송 공식 후원사인 삼성전자는 1,360명의 성화봉송 주자를 선발하고 있는데요. 영국 명문 축구 구단 첼시 FC의 공식 후원사이기도 한 삼성전자는 2006년부터 첼시 FITC를 후원하며 유소년 축구를 발전시키고 FITC 프로그램을 전 세계로 확장시켜 나가는데 기여하고 있습니다.
